Q&A

Is the course right for me?

If you are looking to create high-quality videos without a film crew, then YES!

The workshop is suited to beginners, intermediate videographers, creatives, content creators, small businesses, and marketing professionals who want to create impactful videos or stories no matter the niche.

What if I’ve never created a video before?

That’s okay —“We got you!” While some experience will help, the workshop is designed so that you learn the essentials of video in a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment. It builds on any prior knowledge you might have and stacks your skills with each lesson.

Do I need a camera or phone? Can I bring my own?

The best camera is the one you have on you!

Please bring your smartphone, and you are more than welcome to bring a specific camera.

We use phone cameras throughout the workshop for practical learning and fast application. However, if you have a dedicated camera you would like to bring and familiarise yourself with, you are more than welcome to do so.

Just so you know, you are responsible for your belongings, and the workshop is not liable for any loss or damage.

Do I need a Laptop? Should I install Final Cut Pro X?

A laptop will significantly improve your editing experience, but if you don’t have one, you can use your phone (editing will be tailored to what you will regularly use). Some students have used their phones.

The editing demonstrations will be on Apple Final Cut Pro X (FCPX). I also recommend Capcut and VN for mobile, which are free. Premiere Pro and Davinci Resolve are also good paid options.

If you wish to install FCPX onto your computer before the workshop, you will use the same editor as Bryan.

If you already edit in Premier Pro or Davinci Resolve, you can follow along with the edit session and apply the techniques as you go.

What’s Included after the workshop?

Upon completion of the workshop and feedback, all students will receive “The Shots Guide,” Bryan's essential guide and resource from the workshop, with added tutorials and lifetime updates.
